End of Veganuary and don’t eat dairy if you are not ready to suck the cow’s tits.

My fiance has turned vegan a while ago. I although eating almost vegetarian and only replacing cows milk with plant milk, didn’t… The one day of this January I watched a video of how chickens are being born and treated in factories and how they are being brutally and inhumanely killed by tearing their head off (time 2:22 – 2:31, one of the most horrible 9 seconds of my life) with bare hands only because after “rides” on conveyer belt they are a bit weak… I was shocked, I actually did not know. I decided to join Veganuary and decided I will not eat an egg again in my life unless I rescue a hen and she will decide to lay an egg… or better I give them to neighbors, so the impact of buying eggs is lessened.

Almost a month later and I must say I thought it will be more difficult to stick to vegan life choice – I don’t consider it a diet. It was difficult to find for example good mayonnaise but I have now. It is more expensive but I can afford it, it may be a case I will start eating less of it, which will be better for my health.

I didn’t know if I will stick to it and yesterday I received an email from Veganuary Dairy is scary. After watching this I don’t want to eat cheese anymore. I might miss the flavor of it for a bit. Though on the train back from the meeting, I saw this girl eating cheese and the only thing I could think of was that poor cow who was impregnated/raped to give birth to little cow, that is it was a female it would face the same destiny as moummy cow and if it was a male it would be killed for veal… and this poor bull (yes, not all of the baby male cows are killed but) that was forced masturbated to produce sperm to then be “put” in a cow.

Not to mention that milked cows are being treated horribly and there is pus and blood in the milk as the tits are being sucked by machines so much that they bleed, get inflamed and infected. The regulations allow different amounts of somatic cells (most of which are white blood cells)in milk in different countries… and they are the thing that erupts on the top of a bit zit!

Hey, you probably are thinking, Veganuary did this on purpose. Yes, so what I’m happy they did. Otherwise, I would not have known and still be part of something I disagree with.

Turning vegan has also spiced up my life. Not only for my fiance to love me even more but cooking is a totally new adventure and a one the both of us are now going through.
